The da Vinci Institute derives its mission and commitment from the communities’ need to develop future citizens who are self-motivated, skilled, lifelong learners and problem solvers. As the world becomes more interdependent, students must be able to expand their horizons beyond the region to see themselves as contributors to a global economy.

• We are committed to being reasonable, respectful and responsible.

• We are committed to fostering a caring and compassionate community.

• We are committed to celebrating our differences and embracing diversity.

Service Learning

A vital component of the da Vinci program is service learning. We encourage students to take an active part in our da Vinci community, and then to look outside into the communities we live. We encourage students to be problem solvers in our global society. The value of the common good is a strong emphasis, with a community service requirement of 15 hours per year.

The purpose of the da Vinci Institute is to prepare students to be well-educated, self-directed young adults who are Reasonable, Respectful and Responsible members of a global society.

The importance of learning and the importance of creating a kind and caring community are emphasized at all levels. The da Vinci Secondary School is made up of about 120 students. Our da Vinci community was designed to meet the individual needs of students. We believe that a small community gives some students the individualized attention they need to be successful.
